Today, we caught up with Chi Ilochi, a 20 year old Nigerian American fashion stylist based in Pittsburgh,PA.
“I’ve been interested in fashion and style since I was 7 years old. My company is “StylingByChi” and in all I do, I aim to help, heal, inspire and share insight through my life and the art of fashion and style. I’m currently working towards helping those who struggle with mental illness, physical illness, autism, the list goes on with their own personal style.”
TS: Who and what are your biggest influences when it comes to your personal style?
CI: My biggest influences are SZA, Jeremy Scott, and Pharrell Williams. The way they present themselves to the world is truly inspiring. It reminds me that it’s okay to be free, unique, and yourself.
TS:Where are your favorite places to shop on and offline?
CI: My favorite places to shop on and offline are ASOS. Goodwill of Southwestern PA, Topshop, Kooding, Pretty Little Thing, Boohoo and Shein right now but I’m sure they’ll change.
TS: Three most favorite things in your closet?
CI: My Air Jordan 1 “Light Bulb”

CI: It’s a tie between Execute and Manifest

CI: Structured Bags, Bright Colored Blazers, 90s Inspired Satin Slip Dresses, and Chic Anklets
TS: 3 books are on your quarantine reading list?
CI: “Relationship Goals” By Michael Todd, “Soar” By Bishop TD Jakes, and this fashion/style book I’m reading.
TS: Favorite song right now?
CI: “Unikorn Black” By Deej
TS: What piece of style advice has stuck with you your whole life?
CI: “Fashion is like eating, you shouldn’t stick to the same menu”
TS: How are you maintaining your style and your sanity during this unprecedented time?
CI: Haha I’ve been praying, reading, creating virtual looks, and having fun in my closet by styling myself. It’s been working for me so I believe it’ll sustain me until all of this is over!

Born and raised in Baltimore, MD the mom of 2 juggles building an empire and raising her 8-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter. She attended Stevenson University for Fashion Design and LIM for Fashion Merchandising and Marketing. Tori has been a style writer for WOE Magazine and has worked for companies like Kohls, H&M and Nordstrom. She believes that when you look good, you feel good, and ultimately perform better in every area of your life.
